Pivot Points investigates how to design sociality for mixed reality (MR). The “pivot point” is a virtual asset scanned in from a user’s “real reality” (RR) that is shareable among VR spaces. Pivot points connect VR spaces to each other, becoming the pivot for social interactions. This proposal explores alternative, more personal affordances for mixed reality interactions. Won “Most Provocative Design” – Microsoft Design Expo 2017. Collaborators Nan Tsai and Nicci Yin.
